Crochet Circle at WISH
At the start of this new month, WISH launched its monthly Crochet Circle, held on the second Monday of every month, bringing together new and returning members of the community.
The Crochet Circle is all about creating a relaxed space where people can come together to learn new skills, enjoy being creative, and connect with others in the community. We hope it will become a regular highlight at WISH and, over time, grow into a self-running event with the support of our wonderful volunteers.
Our next session will be held on Monday 8th June, from 12pm to 2pm at WISH. This group is open to everyone, whether you’re picking up a crochet hook for the first time or have years of experience to share. We also have our Climatarian Kitchen café available, where you can choose from a selection of foods using a pay-what-you-can system.
We feel that our first session was a success. We had a mixture of both new and returning members of the community. We hope that, with time, more people will join!
We would like to send a special thank-you of our volunteer, Bonnie Cox, who has supported WISH enormously over the years with many of our crafting needs. Although she attended the Crochet Circle as a participant, she was also helping others with their crochet struggles throughout the session.
Bonnie is left-handed, which is a great asset when teaching crochet to other left-handers. We also received lovely feedback from attendees, including: “This was great fun today. Thank you, Bonnie, for your help, and I’m looking forward to the next one!”
Activities like this are a great way to bring people together, build confidence, and create a sense of belonging through shared interests. We’re excited to see the Crochet Circle develop and to welcome both new and familiar faces to join us. If you’d like to spend an afternoon crafting, chatting, and being part of a supportive community, we’d love to see you there.
