Businesses and civic partners

We rely on community businesses and civic organizations to support our work and engage in long-term partnerships. Many local businesses donate surplus food and other goods to our organisation, which supplies our Cherwell Larder Marketplace and Climatarian Kitchen. Civic partners help us spread our message and impact into surrounding communities. They augment and amplify our work.

We usually tailor corporate volunteering experiences depending on the company’s interest and the current needs of our projects. If you would like to set up a corporate volunteering activity, please get in touch!

WISH Partnership

Many know Waste Innovation Station Headquarters (WISH) as our community hub in Kidlington. However, WISH is more than a hub, it is a county-wide climate action partnership project run by Cherwell Collective.

Cherwell Collective’s WISH Partnership empowers existing community organisations and groups to build infrastructure for the first truly circular economy in the UK. We are working to build climate resilience from the ground up, together.

About the Partnership

In 2023, following a pilot of our partnership for 18 months, WISH was one of just a few organisations to be granted a full award worth £1.5 million from The National Lottery Community Fund. The pilot phase tested our model for peer to peer support, and provided practical solutions to community waste through direct redistribution and repurposing innovation in Kidlington.

For the full award, we continue this critical work with plans to scale up year after year and reach more people, building infrastructure in response to our outreach and engagement. The WISH Partnership is funded for critical work building climate resilience in Oxfordshire through replicating the pilot project’s efforts in hubs across the county through 2028.

How it's done

The WISH Partnership closes loops in infrastructure to increase transparency in supply chains in order to build more sustainable habits. The pilot work critically identified a winning formula for helping thousands of people build resilience together that now form the pillars of the WISH Partnership:

Our partners increase access to each of these pillars in the community to help build climate resilience and reduce barriers to climate action.

Cherwell Collective's Partners

Cherwell Collective is grateful for the support of these and other organisations in helping us reduce waste and strengthen our community.
