Gosford Hill School Students Collect Donations for Cherwell Collective
Recently, we were delighted to learn about a pupil-led initiative of Gosford Hill School students to collect donations for Cherwell Collective. Year 10 pupils decided to stage a competition between tutor groups to see who could collect and donate the most over a two-month period.

Gosford Hill School students, Cerys, Mia-Grace, and Isabel, who led the initiative for Year 10 to collect donations for Cherwell Collective.
In May, the school’s head of years 10 and 11, Matthew Gannon, kindly reached out to inform us of the wonderful initiative and ask which donations would be best.
Cherwell Collective Director, Dr. Emily Connally, provided a list of foodstuffs that our organisation was in need of. These included some long-life products for our emergency food parcels at Cherwell Larder, various cooking materials, and cleaning supplies hugely valuable for Climatarian Kitchen’s community cafe.
Over two months, the students collected several crates of supplies, which they handed over to us just before the summer holidays.

A Cherwell Collective team member collected crates of donations from Gosford Hill School in July.
Cherwell Collective greatly appreciates the students’ efforts. Their project resulted in the donation of a large quantity of provisions just in time for the beginning of the summer holidays, which can be a time of hardship for many families in our community.
We are also grateful for the opportunity to build our partnership with Gosford Hill School, after earlier collaborations to set up a hygiene bank at the WISH Headquarters, located at 4 The Parade, Kidlington, and, more recently, to host work experience students on site in June. We look forward to more such opportunities in the future!
